For about eight years, this has been a city restaurant we’ve chosen to visit periodically during the day or evening, on weekdays or weekends, and have greatly enjoyed. We often invite not only our immediate family but also friends and relatives. Over the years, we can say that this restaurant has maintained a sustainable level of quality service, so we always leave with positive impressions.
Piknik Restaurant is located a short distance from the city center. It’s a spacious place with open and closed seating areas, as well as a play area for families with children. It also has a large, private parking lot. The indoor seating area is beautifully decorated, featuring a bright, mostly white color scheme with colorful flowering plants.
The restaurant has a wide selection of food and drink options. The kitchen is open, allowing you to see the food being prepared, and service is very fast and orderly. As for starters/cold mezes, it includes typical yogurt- and olive oil-based mezes and a variety of cheeses, as commonly found in restaurant menus. The hot appetizers consist of seafood, liver, meatballs, and pastries. Main dishes include various meatball options, chicken, lamb, and beef grilled dishes. One of our favorite aspects of this restaurant is the “flavors of the day” section, where they feature special items that aren’t always on the menu. My favorite from this section is the slow-cooked beef tenderloin with rice pilaf and beğendi sauce. The combination of the pilaf, creamy eggplant sauce, and tender beef is truly delicious and well-executed. The drink menu includes a sufficient selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages. For dessert, they offer classic syrup- and milk-based sweets typically found in similar establishments.
Generally, this restaurant has a loyal customer base and gets busy during weekends and holidays. Visiting before sunset is quieter, though the number of customers increases later in the evening. The seating is ample, so we’ve never had trouble finding a table without a reservation. Due to its proximity to businesses and factories, the restaurant is also a popular choice for business dinners, in addition to family and friend gatherings. You can even plan group events with a fixed menu here. For those who drink alcohol, note that prices are about 2.5 times the retail price. Considering the quality of the food and service, it’s a reasonably priced restaurant within its category.
